Vacation ideas for tourists visiting England including a tour of the many historic public houses.

After reading the above post and link. Go to a small English village. Smaller the better. Get your accommodation. Leave the car where it is if you are driving.

Then ask the owners of the hotel for all the pubs within walking distance. Make a route plan. Build into it a Chinese or Indian take away. If you are a lightweight drinker like me then start a bit later in the day.. or just take it easy.

And off you go..... the typical English Pub crawl.

Seriously, the smaller the village and more remote, the better of a time you'll have. Get chatting with the locals.
I think if I was to visit England, I'd be taking in a pub crawl or three Beer. I'd have to agree with the smaller pubs though. Here in Australia the country pubs have a much better atmosphere than the city ones. Trouble is they are too far apart to walk to if you want to do a pub crawl without a car.
I really want to visit the UK once more.
I love the old English architecture (esp the small villages) that you cannot see in the states.
The middle age stuff.
