Prague is a gem of a place for architects or photographers. Nice campsite actually in the city next to the river.
Stunning hiking and viewing opportunities in the east and west. Also, look into skiing, never done it but it will be cheaper than the Alps.
There must be hundreds of castles. A good one with an interesting town to visit is ?eský Krumlov.
Then for the doom and gloom effect, go to the ossuary in Kutna Hora. An hour and a half east Prague. 40,000 skeletons decorating the inside of a chapel.

I have never been to Prague before. I really want to go some time in the future. I really enjoy seeing European castles!
