I've been to Amsterdam so many times it's a blur. Let me sum it up for you.....
Legal marijuana.
Legal prostitution.
Great architecture.
Quality art museums.
Good nightclubs.
Beautiful women - damn the Dutch are a good looking race.
A very open and excepted gay scene (not my cup of tea, but in 'Dam anything goes)
Cheap hotels - book in advance
A nice campsite on the outskirts.
And to help you get there... damn cheap flights around Europe, excellent train services and a good coach network.
Amsterdam seems like a great place. "Legal marijuana." That's amazing.
It's cool how Amsterdam is not dysfunctional at all either.
