Topi is a really beautiful town, surrounded by huge, green mountains. Apart from the natural beauty, it has some important buildings too. Pakistan's largest hydral power station is situated here! Also, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Inistitue (GIKI) is also situated here, which is one of the best engineering universities of Pakistan. I went Topi on an educational trip to visit Tarbaila dam and the Power station. I was spell bound when the bus turned to Topi from the main road. WAPDA has constrcuted a complete colony for workers and engineers of the power station. Huge mountains were covered with trees. On the bank of the artificial lake (the secondary reservoir for the dam) a small road side resturant is situated. The resturant offers not only delicious food but also some beautiful scenes. We went there at night and stayed there for dinner. The resturants have small huts with verandas facing the lake. The cool breeze, reflection of lights in the water, music and happy faces of the people sitting in the resturant, it was a really a rare experience. I sat on the low wall which was touching the lake and spent a good time while watching the lights reflection in the lake water. I wanted that moment to continue forever!
The best time to visit topi is end of November. don't forget to take sweater or warm colthes with you because at night the temperature falls to 11 - 15 C
